I believe those people who gamble even when they are broke are gambling addicts. This type of person doesn’t even care about what will happen next; they might use their last money to gamble. In fact, this set of people is so addicted that they will go to the extent of borrowing money to gamble and can even sell their valuable properties to continue gambling.
What is happening nowadays is that broke people are gambling more, often because of the false hope they are given by others. For example, you might see stories online about someone using their last bit of money to place a bet and winning a significant amount.
