Arsenal and Man City will currently focus on maintaining their positions in the standings for a Champions League ticket next season. Arsenal facing Liverpool, will certainly have quite a hard time with the resistance from the Premier League champions this season. But Man City may be very favored to win in this week's match.
If Arsenal is unable to get a win, then what happens is that their position is shifted by Man City with a goal difference. We are approaching the end of the season, and the competition for a place in the Champions League is certainly getting more exciting, seeing the points difference, which is not too far between the teams.
If at the end of this season and Arsenal failed to end it at the second position in the EPL it would be more disappointing that after all the best shows they gave all through the season in all competitions they still couldn't end hold it next to the league champions. It won't be like Manchester city had the worst season because for any team to end in second place after going through all the losses City had and still had to end in second place then they would be better off than an Arsenal team that may end in third place. I hope that doesn't happen eventually.

There is nothing disappointing if the hope for the trophy can no longer be achieved. The other target must be a safe position for the Champions League. No matter the second or third position, Arsenal has won that position in the previous two seasons. They always compete and try for the trophy, but this season, once again they still failed.
Except for a true Gunners' fan, they would understand better the disappointment it would feel that even in a season when they were far better in performance than City yet they had to finish third place after holding on to the second position for almost althrough the season while City was sitting in 7th place. If it's about Arsenal securing a place in the UCL next season, it's guaranteed but my point isn't about that.

Quite surprised with the goalless first half draw between Man City and Southampton. I thought they would get a goal in the first half, but with them dominating the game, unfortunately they did not get a goal.

Good for Arsenal this game ended in a goalless draw which puts Arsenal still ahead of City whether they draw, win or lose against Liverpool on Sunday. I guess City were just having some hard luck in this game  against Southampton, cause they had a couple of clear goal scoring opportunities but couldn't covert any into the back of Southampton's net to get all 3 points.

Maybe Chelsea can leverage on these results in their game  on Sunday as they visit Newcastle. A very crucial points for them if they can beat Newcastle to it.
