Unfortunately, the result obtained by Man City was a 0-0 draw. With so many opportunities and pressure done by Man City, it is quite surprising that Southampton's defense did not concede a single goal. Who knows what happened to Man City, but this is football and maybe now many who bet on Man City must feel disappointed.
This result allows Arsenal to stay calm in second place.
This Southampton team has already relegated and I’m still surprised that they claim to be so stubborn and vigorous in their games not to allow teams who need the point the most to prevail against them. I have not been following up on their matches this season but with 36 matches played and 12 points earn this season, that shows how poor of a performance they’ve exhibited this season and will have heading to relegation.
Manchester City needed to have won this game to put themselves in a good position for the champions league qualification status, but they’ve failed to win a relegated team and drew the match. Chelsea and Newcastle juts need to win their next games to be in a good position for the champions league race. With two or three matches left for all teams in the premier league, we can’t really say who gets to qualify or stay to play other European competitions for next season for now.
