If there is anyone here who has actually used a no deposit bonus, was it really legit? Or were there some hidden charges involved?
I have actually signed up in a local casino. They do not require a deposit to receive their bonus. The bonus is in the form of free spins. As soon as you sign up, you get to spin a wheel. Whatever amount you land on will be credited to your new account, and you must meet the wagering requirements before you can withdraw. This could be applicable to other platforms for example the 888 casino platform.

I've seen several casinos offer free bets to newly registered account even without them necessarily making deposit. This strategy is employed mostly to grab the bettors mind by testing some of their original casino game, but few casinos I've seen, the free bet is only limited to some games. You cannot necessarily use the free bet to gamble on sport betting or some other casino games, and if you get lucky by wining some bets and mer the withdrawal limit, you'll have to make a deposit before you can successfully withdraw your profit off the free bet. But in some cases the free bet wins cannot be withdraw, it's in the form a the casino currency which cannot be swapped, it all depends on the casinos decision.
