I've not lost money that could cause me lots of pain like that in gambling, the highest I've lost once was $40 and it did me nothing, I only regret because the money should served as a monthly amount for my gambling activities and I wasted it in a day.

I've lost more outside of gambling, through hack and ponzi scheme, even in investment in crypto I've lost over $600 last year due to bad projects but I've also make a lot of money too.

The bad side of losing money is not getting anything in return, the lesson we learnt after losing money must be an achievement on its own, it's how I learn trading and I've gotten better, it's also how I learnt how to do better research on projects and today I am better than last year.
