I see that the Europa League finalists are in the relegation zone has become a mockery, perhaps it is a mockery of the level of the tournament. I do not think such an approach is worthy of any team that will play in the final, you can not just give up the fight in the domestic championship just because you hope to win in another tournament. I see that almost everyone gives the advantage to Manchester United, but in fact I do not see any difference between them and Tottenham, moreover I do not understand how one of these teams will play in the group stage of the Champions League, do they really hope to change in a short off-season?
Many will see any of them who gets to qualify for the champions league as a mediocre team and can’t even make it out of the group stage of the competition. One cannot really give up the fight for the domestic league and just fight for an European trophy, it will really become something of confusion and many will wonder why. What if they fought for the champions league spot through winning the Europa League and end up being relegated, how will such team be in the following season. I don’t think such scenario has happened before. Tottenham are in the bottom of the table too and I just wonder if they’d relegated and won the Europa League trophy which means they’ll get to book a spot for the champions league for the next season, can they be relegated and still not play in the domestic league??
