Martingale won't work! It hasn't worked it will never do, just get over it

What happens if you bet on Liverpool from the start:
Lost with Nottingham at 1.25, so for $1 would would need to have a bet of $4.
You lose and then they play at Bournemouth at 1.3, to make up the loss and the 1$ you need $15 bet, which again they lose.
They go against the wolves and again 1.3, you need a $50 to make $1, have you played for $10 you would need at least $700 in bankroll for just a team!

In the contrary one win from Liverpool will render @OP with a win, all losses from the previous bet recovered.  Just a consistent bet on 1 team seems feasible as long as the team is competent enough to win some games.  Sports betting is quite different from casino games like slots, dice, and roulette.  So why not give it a try @OP and tell us your result.

Whether you will gain or not in this kind of strategy is yet to be sin, though you need a good sum of money as a starting bankroll for this to cover the possibility of n-1 match losses where n is the number of matches.  So @OP, for example you intend to bet $5 in a 10-match series, you need to have at least a balance of $2560 to cover all the matches.  It is quite expensive but more or less there is a good chance that you will be in profit assuming you have chosen a pretty tough team to beat.
