This wallet is sort of like what Bitcoin Core is for Bitcoin. It's a great wallet in my opinion, but I 've mainly used it as a node and not as a wallet. I prefer using Feather because it looks like Electrum and it's a great SPV wallet. But, if I had to start today without knowing anything, normally the wallet I 'd start with would be Monero Wallet, because it's user friendly, feature-rich and stable. Having the knowledge that I have, I prefer a simple, light-weight wallet like Feather.

I agree with you. Monero GUI Wallet is like Bitcoin Core for a Bitcoin wallet. They also provide a Monero CLI Wallet just as there is a Bitcoin Core RPC/REST (CLI) Wallet (https://bitcoin.org/en/bitcoin-core/features/user-interface#cli).

But for users who want a light wallet, the Feather wallet is one of the wallets recommended by Monero developers, as can be seen here:
