Palace played a disciplined defence throughout the match, fending off Manchester City’s attacks and winning the match.
The early goal allowed Palace to focus entirely on defence, so that early goal was crucial in this match. Manchester City dominated possession and despite their many attempts at attacking, they failed to score any goals.
