I recently came across the news that Bill Gates plans to give away his entire fortune through his charity foundation over the next 20 years. It got me thinking, why would someone spend the majority of their life accumulating wealth only to give it all away in the end? I'm curious, do they truly give it all away, or is there something more going on behind the scenes?
I knew about it a few months ago too and if you think about it, why not?
I mean, we all want the best for our sons and daughters, but when your wealth is so high, is it really a good gift? In addition, even if you don't have children, all the wealth accumulated during one's life won't work for you when the final moment arrives, so what does it matter? If you can contribute to make the world better for those who will come after you, isn't it the most reasonable thing to do with that money?
