Laszlo could easily buy the same amount of Bitcoin within minutes with his fiat. The past is past but he has nothing to regret because this man left a legacy, he made a legendary transaction and he is the part of the history that we all will remember. I think that this is something that has a huge value.
I've purchased things many time with Bitcoin and I don't regret it despite the fact that what I've spend now worth more than 5x the amount that I paid. I do not want to sit on my Bitcoins like a chicken laying on her eggs.
Yes. Because if we only hoard Bitcoin, what use would it be? The crypto economy can't move this way. Bitcoins are meant to be spent, to keep the supply "flowing". Some people will use it as a currency, while others will "hodl" it like a store of value. The majority hoards BTC for long-term profits. But as long as there's someone spending it, coins will continue to "circulate" across the Blockchain.
Laszlo made the choice of spending BTC in the past because he believed it was a currency. Just like how Satoshi wanted people to use BTC. I think the high fees and market price volatility is what's holding people back from using Bitcoin as a currency. But the time will come when this will no longer be an issue, allowing Bitcoin to rise as Fiat's true successor. Things are just getting started. We'll see what happens in the long run.
