When it comes to the beautiful game of football there are allot of history or statistics that is created and these statistics gets to play out in the future Tottenham won this years europa league title and Tottenham coach boosted about him winning a trophy in his second season as a manager in any club that he finds himself and many people laugh over it and eventually the history of Ange Postecoglou winning a trophy in his second season has  come out to be true again

So this left me to ask the question does statistics really work in football or it just a coincidence that it happens

In sports betting, statistics are the main data that we all use to be able to predict the future result. Without statistics, people would be placing bets based on luck. For example, in the case of the Tottenham vs Manchester United game, in a way it was already a predictable result, taking into account that in recent years, when these two teams play each other, Tottenham has come out on top.

see that since 2023 Manchester United has not beaten Tottenham, this data is very important, this shows how statistics are very important in sports betting

You're right, but some of those matches were close, like 4-3 result. That could have been anybody's game.

The thing is, bookies take that into account. When 1 team keeps winning, they won't pay you much for betting on the same result. This means that if you win, you win very little, but you still can lose because players change. These teams in 2026 will not be the same as they were in 2023. There will be new players, some older guys will retire, some could have health issues...
Statistics are just something you take into account, but I tend to avoid these one sided matches.
