If Chelsea really want to qualify for the champions league next season, then that they should be fighting for in their next match against Nottingham forest is a win, if they can win, then they have no problem, but getting a draw is really bad for them, and if they can lose, then they are out of the top 5 already.
Chelsea has to give it a try to win their next coming match against Nottingham Forest. Because that’s their last game for them to claim the top 5 from the table, so in this case Chelsea really needs to put in a lot of effort and fight Nottingham Forest in order to win the match.
Upon saying their performance was very poor right from the beginning of this season, I don’t think that it will still affect them against Nottingham Forest. That means if they can keep their performance so strong like how they did in their previous games is possible that they will win the match against Nottingham Forest; since if they can’t win this game, they will not qualify for the next Champions League.
Chelsea will indeed have to work extra hard to secure three points in that crucial match. If Enzo Maresca fails to guide Chelsea to a Champions League spot, he might well be sacked like Pochettino last season, I don't think a Conference League trophy would be enough to save his managerial career at Stamford Bridge. Nottingham Forest will have a slight advantage acting as hosts, but I don't think that will make much of a difference. On paper, Chelsea are favored, but anything can happen. Chelsea have missed out on the Champions League for two consecutive seasons, so this is a momentum they absolutely must capitalize on.
