Good topic, OP. But do you remember how many requests there were for a separate section on the forum to discuss security? I will just quote the collection of topics that @BenCodie very conscientiously selected. Just look at the collection of valuable guides, but they are unfortunately scattered throughout the forum, and I fear that your topic will also one day disappear into oblivion......
You were actually right lovesmayfamilis the post is actually lost in the abyss but... The topic of security cannot actually be overemphasized though and it was with that spirit I kinda thought of the idea for this thread. Security is oje of the most discussed topic on the board and it never gets old since we aren't guaranteed a hundred percent safety both online and offline.
Anyways this can also be considered a bump before it gets lost in the abyss once again.

Well, I always support such topics with all my hands. If the admins do not want to create a separate section for security, let's raise it from time to time, keeping everything in one place.
What relevant news can be added today?

While this is a great idea and a lot has happened in relation to breached cybersecurity and privacy since the threads were posted, though if a consensus vote and hundreds of posters aren't enough to get a change made, but the admin has time to grant username change requests, I think that it's clear it won't be added. Never the less, I will make a compilation for the threads just to keep the reason why it's needed up to date and because, as I said, a lot has happened.

I read about the dangers of Chrome browser extensions; as the article says, more than 100 fake extensions steal user information, including passwords, cookies, and other information that can be used against the user. Fake VPN extensions, "fashionable" AI assistants, and extensions of various crypto utilities have flooded the Internet. Therefore, you could completely avoid installing extensions, even with numerous installations. It is better to be a suspicious skeptic and sleep peacefully than to face unexpected theft of your funds.

Fake websites impersonating AI assistants and VPN services through extensions would be a growing attack vectors in a time where a lot of people are attracted to these services. It's one of many examples why the board is needed. I see so much being lost to scams due to cybersecurity, privacy or lack of knowledge thereof. It is a shame that this forum doesn't want to allow people to discuss both of these topics that will start by helping people primarily to protect their Bitcoin, and secondarily help general online security.
