Regarding your second point: while it’s true that this can happen to anyone, we still need to keep our accounts secure. That’s not an excuse, but I still don’t believe the person was an impersonator. I believe it was really him.
Yeah, it isn't an excuse. My point is, you need to be extra careful with whom you trust. You need to be paranoid most of them time. All the scammer cares about is getting money from you and will do whatever it takes to get it.
And no, I am not saying the person who scammed you may have been an impersonator. I am just giving you the different angles scammers use, and it has happened in this forum before.
