diamond.conf is the proper name
diamond.conf belongs in your C:/Users//Appdata/Roaming/Diamond
the diamond.conf file should be made/saved with Notepad, not Wordpad or Word.

I assume you're windows? To locate your appdata folder, use this string: %appdata%
Type that in a command prompt or the "run" command.. This will show you where your appdata resides.
Once there, its self explanatory: "diamond" folder is your DMD folder. This is the folder you place your diamond.conf in. Be sure you have configured the folder view to show file extensions. If the file is named diamond.conf.txt that's not good.
