Don't get me wrong here. Oatmeal is not something you should eat all day, every day. Just something you can eat every day for breakfast and you'll be completely fine and healthy, as long as you eat other things too. oatmeal is also not eaten alone, but usually with milk and often fruit. Personally, I like to add bananas dates and blueberries. Depends on what I have, but there's often at least 1 type of fruit in my bowl, sometimes also nuts, or peanut butter.

Why is it healthy? Let's compare with bacon.

100g of oats contain:
6.5g fat
16g protein
6mg sodium
10g fiber
1g sugar

100g of bacon:
35g fat
34g protein
1684mg sodium
99mg of cholesterol

You're getting 2x the protein, that's good, but also almost 6x the fat, no fiber and 70% of your daily recommended sodium intake, not to mention cholesterol.
I like bacon, but it really isn't healthier than oats.

Not my intention to change this thread into a debate about healthy food  Smiley
Pizza is super tasty, so is meat and bacon (I'm not a vegetarian).

We can agree to disagree.  I will ONLY concede to the extent that bacon is a processed food, so it might not have had been as good of an example as pork bellies, which is the meat underlying the bacon without the processing.  And, part of my earlier point had to do with essential nutrients, which oats do not have, but meat does, especially untrimmed meat... such as pork or beef... but yeah, I don't necessarily want to belabor the points of my disagreement regarding propaganda against meat and animal fats, and promoting of inferior foods (such as oats/grains) as if they were as nutrious, or close to as nutritious or even adequate substitutes for the nutrients of animal meats and fats.

We don't eat meat and fat merely because it tastes good, and hopefully you are familiar with the basic idea about essential nutrients coming from proteins and fats and not from carbohydrates and/or fiber.
