What could be the best possible way to have a trading mentor? could it be to select a mentor and then let them know that you have chosen them as your mentor or follow them anonymously without their knowledge that their mentoring someone, and you are following in their steps?

Whats your thought?
Having a mentorship process that involves physical and active involvement of both parties is the best form of mentorship since you will be guided on the step-by-step step to achieve your success goals, and it helps you to overcome any possible distractions and mistakes that may arise if you doing it on your own.

So is best you open up to the o e that you calm your mentor instead of you, trying to learn from afar, making it hard to learn so many basic facts that could help prevent you from making mistakes in trading.
What you said is true. There’s no better and effective mentorship than to have a face to face meeting and discussion about the goals of mentoring, and what you want to expect to gain and achieve once mentorship is done.

However, mentorship without letting know the mentor that you are following him seems like you are just avoiding the cost of mentorship. But I will stick to this, if you want to be mentored efficiently and productively, you need to pay the price, no one’s excuse for that.
