Stop trying to time the markets. We don't know if it's going to go up or down. If someone says they know, they're lying. If they knew, they'd be making a lot of money with it, they wouldn't be trying to convince you that they know.
In trading may it be buying or selling, timing is the most essential. Timing the market to buy is an advantage if one can do it because he can either buy cheaper or sell higher after all the market specifically Bitcoin market has its own cycle and pattern. Indeed no one knows what the future price of Bitcoin is but at least looking back at the history, we all know that Bitcoin has its bear and bull market alternately, knowing when it will be is a must if one wants to maximize his investment with lower capital.
Bitcoin is a volatile, unpredictable asset. With the short-term thinking of trying to time your buys to the market, you're never going to get anywhere. There's no free money to be made. If you're serious about bitcoin, consider educating yourself and look into a more forward-thinking strategy like DCA. If you're just trying to make a quick buck, get out of here. Bitcoin is not for you.
Indeed Bitcoin is volatile it can be unpredictable in a short-term period but by zooming out the price performance you can see a pattern. All these years in Bitcoin trade history, we see the movement of Bitcoin, the bear market, and the bull market and how they transition. It is indeed not good to see short-term benefits in Bitcoin since Bitcoin is much more profitable in the long run. Besides, DCA is one of the strategies that is proven to be beneficial, but aside from DCA there is also this buy when the market is at a bear market and sell when the market is bullish best if BTC price is breaking its ATH. Rinse and repeat. And I am inclined to do the latter where I will buy at a low price and sell at a higher price, repurchasing when the price is cheaper increasing my Bitcoin holding. Rinse and repeat.
