I know it's disappointing after having a good run from the start of the season but everything fallout towards the end of the season and suddenly missed the chance to qualify for the champions league
This isn't the first time, and a few seasons ago, Nottingham experienced the same thing. Fans will not be disappointed with this season's results because Nottingham's performance is inconsistent every season. However, this season should provide an opportunity for the squad to improve their performance and achieve better results next season. However, if you ask me if Nottingham will perform the same next season, I would doubt it. Having a schedule in several competitions makes Nottingham worse.
The underdogs are such that they have not performed consistently throughout the season although at the beginning of the season they were quite good with their performance, they had the opportunity to qualify only for their game to deteriorate and now losing or not qualifying they must accept this reality.
At least Nottingham Forest can still compete in other European tournaments even if it is not the UCL tournament.
If we talk about the Nottingham Forest team, it can be said very clearly that it has lack of consistency because any team that has an overall reputation or people think that it is a good team will play well and the team that does not play well is said to be not that good, it is a weak team and their performance has always been bad. But Nottingham Forest is somehow different team. If we study this team, the performance of this team in every season is different from the previous season. Sometimes they are very good and sometimes very bad. And this is the reason why the performance of this Nottingham Forest team in this entire season has also been inconsistent because the Nottingham Falls team is an unpredictable team. But this season has at least given this team the chance to improve their performance and overcome their weaknesses and present themselves as another good player and a good team.
Forest look like the definition of unpredictable: survival by a thread, then a European place the next year. But what everyone’s calling inconsistency is more like a rapid mutation phase. Three years ago, they had to buy a whole new squad just to stay up. Now, Nuno’s built a core that’s not only winning, but actually overperforming the stats (20 goals for Wood, 13 clean sheets for Sels, and a top-three away record?!)
The real problem is that Forest play a binary, momentum-based game. When the plan clicks, they look like world-beaters (six-game winning streak, slapping City and Liverpool). When it doesn’t (especially with injuries) they fall hard, because the depth just isn’t there yet. Most “big clubs” just mask their wobbles with money and squad size. Forest are doing it in the open, and if anything, that volatility is a sign of a team breaking out of survival mode. Next year, with Europe and stricter financial rules coming, we’ll see if they’re actually “inconsistent,” or just not afraid to live on the edge while building something big
To be honest, I’m a bit gutted we won’t see Forest in the Champions League. Imagine them trying to hold off Bayern or Barca — it would’ve been pure drama. And I really hoped Villa would finish ahead of Newcastle. We've already seen both in Europe, but Villa looked more prepared this season. Emery managed the squad well, while Newcastle struggled with injuries and couldn't cope with two competitions. As for Chelsea — no chaos, just solid progress. That’s how you build something lasting.
