They have a smart approach by combining their old players, young players and players from loan contracts. This way, many clubs in Serie A don't have to pay a lot of money for player transfers and salary while they can manage to build up their squad well especially from young players.
I read an article saying that 7 Serie A clubs were in profit last season[1]. Sounds like good news, although the road to full recovery pre-COVID is still long. I think playing regularly in Europe, like the UCL, can help them a lot, even though the spots are limited. I guess smaller teams need to sell their best players to help them recover, too. Well, hopefully the new format will increase the rewards for them too, whether they qualified for the UCL, UEL, or Conference League next season.
