Anyone can be addicted to gambling, an addiction has no category of persons that it's common with...one thing people fail to admit is that we choose what we get addicted to, it's not something that just takes over on its own...to a certain extent you got yourself involved in it because of the pleasure you derive and after a while the brain gets used to it.. students are not the only ones more likely to become addicted but in this context it simply expresses that it's more dangerous to students

Sure, anyone can fall into the trap of addiction. But if you look closely, the majority of people who fall into the trap of gambling addiction are, for the most part, penniless.
A rich person will hardly fall into this trap, there are very few rich people who are addicted to gambling.
At least from what I've seen.

The poor get more addicted to gambling because they are looking for a way out of being poor, while some of them only sees gambling as their last hope. But a rich person that has different source of income and has to attend to 70% of those his income sources will not be so dedicated to gambling and if they are not dedicated because of their business, they won't be addicted. Most people get addicted because they give a large percent of attention to it and they also consider it as a source of income.
