A simple but fun discussion we can have.
Would you rather win $10,000 in front of a crowd, or lose $10,000 without anyone knowing? The logic behind this question is winning in public a big amount can be dangerous. Some may want to target you while some may just outwardly ask you for money. For some people they might also be so egotistical that they would want everyone to know how much they won.

For me, the answer would depend on where the person is - was the winnings made in Las Vegas where everyone gambles and $10k isn't money someone would make a big fuss about, or is it a country where that kind of money is considered real wealth. I'm not saying that something bad can't happen in LV, but where people are desperate and need money, the chances are much higher that something bad can happen.
Maybe I would rather choose to lose that much money without anyone knowing, than to gain that much money and have problems in life because of it. Money is both happiness and curse at the same time.
