the hunger for money and achievement can definitely turn nasty.  That horrific case of torture and kidnapping over some Bitcoin shows how greed can make people do wicked things.  When folks get desperate or see an easier route, honest hard work tends to go out the window.  Im not saying ambition itself is evil and  striving to better your situation takes courage and imagination.  But unrestrained, that yearning can morph into a monster, making us rationalize things we never imagine.  The ends shouldnt justify the means - how you get there matters just as much. 

Maybe thats idealistic.  Yet most of us know right from wrong deep down.  The challenge is sticking to those morals when temptation looms large with a big carrot dangling.  At times like that we gotta check ourselves before we wreck ourselves and others.
