Karim Benzema scored the first goal but Al Ittihad team players missed many goals before that. Benzema is a different player than Cristiano Ronaldo and their common thing is only their great talent. However Benzema can adapt well to his head coach and teammates as well as is able to sacrifice his favorite position for best benefit of the team. In contrast, Cristiano Ronaldo is more selfish and he cares more about himself, his personal performances, records, and awards than the team perforamances. Generally head coaches are more easily and comfortably in working with Benzema than with Cristiano Ronaldo.
In fact, his contract with Al Nassr will end up this June and there has been no yet on a renewal with Al Nassr but top management of the club trying to extend it. Club director Fernando Hierro said they are doing everything they can to keep Ronaldo.
Al Nassr said and did oppositely because they knew that they can not request Cristiano Ronaldo to cut his salary by 50% and convince him signing a new contract with them. It's unrealistic hope from Al Nassr and there is another thing that is even bigger than that.
