I did not expected Knicks to get a win, I would assume they would give up, turns out they didn't.
Just give it to them.. they finally got a win at MSG in this series. But honestly, next game might be their farewell. The Pacers will make sure there’s no Game 7.
That’s just how this series has gone, home teams dominate.
But the Pacers stole Game 1 with that big comeback, and that’s why they’re in control now.
I’m already picturing a Pacers vs OKC Finals. So for Game 6? lock in to the Pacers already.
@op...
can you edit the nba champion poll? these 2 teams were already eliminated.
He was active recently, I do hope he can change it, too.
I just remembered what Charles Barkley said during the post-game TNT discussions. He said that the Knicks won by countering the Pacers by minimizing their fast-paced type of game.
Now the question: Are the Pacers really just dependent on that type of game?
Well, if you could see their stats, most of their scores are from fast-break points. There are not many post-up plays, it's mostly Siakam who does this. But once the Knicks have set their defense, the Pacers have difficulty completing an offensive play.
I think the Knicks already knew that, but they must still be careful if a sudden shift happens. That's how the playoffs work. Adjustments.
If we look at the records, it's actually the points in the paint that are missing on the Pacers' side. They rarely attack on a half-court play, and they mostly shoot outside, unlike how the Knicks keep on attack mode.
