With how much new tokens gets created everyday, checking for use case or utility is no longer effective imo. The line between what counts as actual utility and what doesn't has become very unclear cause many projects are cheap copies of themselves and many of them invent a problem to solve that really doesn't exist.
A project can also have actual utility but won't take off, cause most of the investors are looking for profits and not an alternative (possibly better) way of doing certain things.
Trying to get a good project (the 1%) from the scams (99%) is an almost impossible task and you're more likely to lose money than not.
