Even without participating to any European football, and that means the team can rest way more than the others, I really don't see how Manchester United could somehow be a contender for the Premier League. The team they have makes little sense, they have no real striker at the moment, just a bunch of random players. The goalkeeper is a disaster. Maybe, and it's a big maybe, they can reach a Champions League spot.
It is good for Manchester United that they are not competing in any other European competition. This will give Amorim more time to build his squad. As we have seen with Chelsea this season. This team focused only on the Premier League. And finally qualified for the Champions League. The team also won the Conference League title. However, the Conference League was not very competitive.
Manchester United's overall condition is not good. The team has performed poorly in the Premier League. Manchester United fans only want to see stable performance from this team next season. They do not expect to win any title. However, Amorim needs to ensure Champions League qualification from the top 5 of the table.
We still do not know what steps Manchester United management is going to take to strengthen their squad. New players need to be added to the squad and old players need to be sold to reduce costs. Manchester United will have to try to revamp the squad.
