England Women played a great innings against West Indies Women. They set a huge target of 345 runs in 50 overs which was tough for West Indies Women. But they started well. At the beginning of the second innings the score was a bit low but they managed to keep the wickets. I was a little optimistic to see the partnership of Hayley Matthews and Qiana Joseph. Maybe they could have given a competitive match today but they could not do that. Since the break of this pair, West Indies Women kept losing wickets which created a big problem. Only Aaliyah Alleyne played an innings of 47 runs but the others could not do much. Due to which they had to lose the match by a big margin.

In female cricket, I have never seen a team won at 5+ targets. The England women's team collected a huge 5 runs. England was unlikely to be defeated after such a big collection. The West Indies team was able to get a good start. The two openers batted well, but the West Indies women's innings stopped at 20. The West Indies women's team defeated the match by 5 runs.

This series will be held in 5 ODI matches. I don't think we will see the West Indies women's team win in a match. This is England's home series. The England team is well aware of their pitch and it is very difficult to win against England on such a pitch. Even more important is that the West Indies players' performance is very irregular.
