If self control doesn't work, money control will be impressive. I agree with you. I often can't control myself when gambling, so I set a budget and control it. Another strategy is time control. Determining in advance how much time you will gamble can reduce the amount of money you lose. This also often doesn't work this method if you have enough money in your wallet. Self control and money control are the best methods.

Time control may work, but I would say that only in isolated cases, ie, only for those who have a high level of discipline. At the same time, for most other gamblers, time control is just a useless option because there may always be a temptation to play for 5 minutes more to slightly win back.

Having to deal with the temptation is very normal, that's a proof that you are dealing with an addiction but overcoming that feeling is what recovering is all about.. gamblers must learn to be disciplined enough when it comes to setting targets, it's possible to stay in control when you are finding out that you have started crossing the line...build your mind to the point where gambling wouldn't control your actions
