What do we expect from the IMF? It is clear that their response to Pakistan's plan to allocate electricity for Bitcoin mining will be very bad and we should not be surprised by that. But I feel that Pakistan should have control over their resources. Whether they allocate their resources for Bitcoin mining or for anything else, that should be their right. And in this case, Pakistan should have their own considerations and plans for Bitcoin mining and strategic Bitcoin reserves, so that an institution like the IMF cannot shake their decision on their great plan.
Yes Pakistan should have the complete right to allocate their resources as they see fit. What matters is that they can repay any IMF loans and that the proposed measures do not critically endanger their ability to pay. Deciding to allocate money to mining Bitcoin will not have a strong impact on that. IMF is abusing its authority in this case.

here are agreements between the two, of course if you're having a ton of loan, someone's gonna be triggered if you're doing such things with risky move.
Why would this be a risky move? At worst, you could lose some money but and cancel the project after a while but the electricity can be used for other things or exported. There is very little risk in this.
