Why is IMF thinking nothing good can come out of bitcoin? They only believe in their monetary system. Pakistan is planning to allocate 2000 megawatts of electricity for bitcoin mining but I saw IMF move against it now.

Although I think 2000 megawatts may be too much but why is IMF like to be a bitcoin critic? I think if it something related to their fiat, they may not say anything.

What is your opinion about this?

Before you post, know that 2000 megawatts can power some small nations.

IMF always have concern on anything they don't have a control that's why they release such statement like that. Also its not new since they also raise that concern to El Salvador about legislative decision and their accumulation of Bitcoin.

So don't get surprise about that since for sure that they want to push their agenda and they try to discourage this country to push their Bitcoin activities.

But since Pakistan plan to allocate 2000 megawatts for Bitcoin mining I guess they have lots of electricity resources and could able to supply their Bitcoin mining plans.

By the way this is the energy landscape of their country https://thefridaytimes.com/06-Feb-2025/transforming-pakistan-s-energy-landscape-a-path-to-sustainable-and-secure-future
