I think many would say the scheme should be scrapped reason because they find it unproductive, for me I would want them to maintain the scheme but improve in terms of corpers welfare, the nysc scheme has been a blessing to me i am now learning a skill which i thought i would not have the chance to do if i was still at home, coming for nysc i never know how to cook how to relate with different people from different culture, i cant even talk to a woman freely but now i can express my self, nysc has blessed me with people who are success driven that has made me also to get that same mentality, I have a lot of contacts now that i can go into business and i know i would succeed, nysc blessed me with a good job with mtn nigeria, assuming i ghosted like others i wouldn't have gotten this job i also want to advise those graduates planing for service not to ghost there are a lot of opportunities that comes if you serve. Be open to opportunity thank you.
One man meat is another man's poison, I know a lot of corper who really hated this scheme due to so many reasons, one of which is that it really wasted their time and years.
This Scheme has been a blessing to so many people like yourself, it has also been a nightmare to do many persons, especially those sent to a typical rural area, without network or any business or after service job opportunities.
Well for me the goal of the scheme may be beneficial but at the same time it still has its downsides, you don't expect someone to spend Years in the university reading a professional course and after he or she graduates they are posted to a rural area without any source of electricity, where they are asked to teach in a public school, that is always flooded with dilapidated and cracked buildings. This is a nightmare and some persons cannot survive here so the best option for them is to ghost.
