He doesn't wish to have Bitcoin. Instead he wishes to forcefully get and scam someone out of their hard-earned coin (maybe) to the extent of killing. There's a clear difference....
The story looks a little vague anyway but there might have been something between them earlier before it led to that.
That is exactly what happened, that is the act of stealing or scamming somebody in a broad day light and not the way op sounded. It is good we not to be desperate in terms of investing in Bitcoin to the extent of doing silly things but that does not have anything to do with this case of someone being kidnapped because it's entirely a different story.
Although there might not necessarily be something that compared between them but it could just be that his private information may be leaked to criminal leading to attacking him. Or he could have probably expose himself and people knew he had Bitcoin that lead to this operation. We must be quiet with our Bitcoin investment because it may leed to our very end if the information reaches the wrong people.
