If you want to make a bet, then statistics will be very important. Although sometimes there are some that are beyond prediction, but the statistics of the team help us to assess how big our chances of winning in betting are.
But for the ability of a coach who gets a trophy, the statistics may not be really reliable. But maybe if it happens to a coach with many teams he trains, it might be a special thing that the coach has to get a trophy with statistics like that.
Any game beyond prediction just requires the use of instincts but if you are not comfortable with it then you can just skip and for the ones that can be predicted.. statistics and analysis helps us to become better and improved bettors.. it's been more than 5 years in the game and I can stay that my ideas have changed over the years because I became consistent with doing statistics and analysis
I think that instincts of experienced bettor is the experience. He understand(or feel) what is going on but can`t say it in words. Just automatic brain work, inner analyze. I know one such bettor - he feels that games goes not as was predicted and can change his own prediction, but he can`t say what is wrong - just feeling. Twice he felt fixed games.
But if newbie believe his instincts - it would be like random bet, if the teams quality difference not critical.
