I am so frustrated about people comparing bitcoin to their "better" solution.
It always seem to be superior mainly, because these people have huge bags of what ever that "better" coin is. Or because they own the business.
CEO of ripple saying XRP is the future, is like inventor of a pager or faxes saying saying that pagers or faxes are the future of communication.
Speed isn't relevant factor when it comes with the cost of less decentralization. Anyone can build a coin with fast payments that way.
You shouldn't get frustrated about that, because for me it's the exact opposite. BTC has existed since 2009 and in the years that followed many tried to do something better and are still trying to do it. Some of them claim to have succeeded in doing so, but the difference between them and Satoshi is always that they did something out of their own personal interests, while Satoshi did something for all people without ever thinking of profiting from it.
