Previously I heard several rumors regarding Lewandowski who would be released in the transfer market this season. Fortunately, this seems to be just a rumor that is not true. Because it looks like Lewandowski will remain at Barcelona and remain one of the mainstay strikers for this team.1
And that is one thing that makes me feel relieved because I still believe Lewandowski can still contribute well to this team. Although, at his current age, he is still prone to re-injury. And for this reason, Barcelona still has to prepare players who can replace Lewandowski when Lewandowski is not in his best performance or when he is absent due to injury.
He left Bayern Munich when they thought he was old enough and would become more sensitive with injuries so they denied to satisfy his conditions for a new contract from its length to salary. At Barcelona, Lewandowski has spent recent years with considerable contributions for them and together they have won some big titles.
This season shows that Lewandowski can still play well but there is more signal of his worse physical fitness. He has become more sensitive with injuries and I believe it will be a trend in next years. Like other players, he can not win against ageing effects forever and we saw it with Ibrahimovic, Ronaldo and soon Lewy will have to face and fail with this challenge.
At his age, I think of a good adventure to Saudi Arabia, play there and enjoy good salary in very last years of his career. He has won many titles and has no regret to leave Europe now but with Barcelona, it will not be easy for them in replacement of Lewandowski.
