If you are to ask me about real-world asset tokens. I’d say i have a strong belief in them even though they aren’t gaining enough traction like i thought they would. I got more interested in them last year as a lot of RWA tokens were launched.
Some traders see the RWA narrative as just buzz words with no little potential but this was how Bitcoin started over a decade ago with few people believing in it. I’ve done some research and i’m considering investing in a few; $ALGO (already established and stabilized) and $RWA( new with a solid backing). Found out it’s the native token of Allo, a protocol that offers assets tokenization with currently over $2.2 billion in tokenized RWAs secured. The protocol also enable users to stake RWA tokens to earn yields and participate in governance. By the way, which RWA tokens would you invest in for a long term ?
Most RWA projects are going to end up being scams. It is the same as any narrative before that and any new narrative that will come after it. One way to review a project is to see how it presents itself to the claimed problem. If they are selling RWA as a world revolution, it is clear that they are just out to get your money. There are some benefits from doing RWA, but they are not that great. There are some specific projects though that are trying to solve specific problems in the RWA world, but they are rare. Most are just about the hype and most people will lose money just as so happens with every narrative.
90% of crypto projects in general are scam, only very few are genuine, but at the very least most of the newer project are backed by legit VC although the way the market maker play with the price is shady as heck, but I'm sure the premise is genuine.
As for RWA projects, always invest only to the ones that are already reputable enough, RWA is such complicated thing but there are plenty of project that offer something that actually makes sense.
An example is a stablecoin backed by bond and so on.
