If you earn enough yourself, then yeah you can let your wife stay at home and take care of the kids, and I am a progressive person, so I believe, if we have a woman who makes a lot, even husband could stay at home and take care of the home and kids too. So I am fine with one person staying at home, IF we have the other make enough.

But in cases where it is not enough, like what my friends does, you can both work, and then whoever parents are closer, will take care of the kids, and kids will grow up with their grandparents, which is still nice, I was grown up like that, my grandmother took care of me until I was 11, when my mom retired. Financial decisions are too crucial for everyone because they are the turning point of your life stream which may head toward good or bad based on your decision, so life partner is a financial decision, I agree.
