I agree with you, Arsenal is not short of players they just don't have much quality outside their first team and that is why when any player is out injured they struggle at that position. Take Saka or Saliba as an example, the quality of the club reduced drastically when these players are not available. I think that is why people believe Arsenal doesn't have much players but it's not as if they are short of players, they just don't have good squad depth, other players are not so reliable.
If I were the manager of Manchester United I wouldn’t be so much interested in signing big names rather I will shift concentration to scouting players in and around the EPL and championship just as United are doing now with the likes of Cunha and Mbuemo. I think Manchester United are on the right track with this signings they are making lately.
Lavish spending on big players have not been fruitful for them, most players end up as flops because they expect too much from them after spending too much to buy them. I also believe this new strategy is the best for them that way they will be able to limit their expectations and players will not feel pressured and will be able to play with free mind and give their best at the club.
