Greetings everyone.
Something has been bothering me sometimes now which I have made consultation but could not get convinceable response.
So the things is How does the merit sources pick posts for merits? Do they have bots that specifically identifies those posts like filtering a thread to find worth quality post to merit? Or just hovering around threads in their specified board they are in charge off and then merits randomly according to their own decisions?
I am curious because I see posts that is more qualified for merits but ignored while lower quality posts at being merited or could it also mean there is favouritism in there?

In any case, the distribution of merit is based on the subjective evaluative judgment of posts by merit sources. For example, local merit sources pay more attention to local posts and users. Also, different merit sources pay more attention to different sections of the forum (the most active in some sections and less active in others), which allows users to increase their chances of receiving merits (purely statistically) by being active in certain sections.

Don't expect much objectivity in the distribution of merits. I see many posts that deserve merits, but they remain without due attention (and vice versa). Merit sources may consider them NOT deserving, and this is, in principle, normal. To award or not (to this or that post / user), this is their right and privilege. We are left to accept this as a given without the ability to influence their decisions (which would be strange).
