Statistics is just one of the important factors, as is the current state & motivation of the team for a specific game, missing players for various reasons, home/away game, and of course luck. There is only one logical conclusion, statistics alone will not help, other factors must be taken into account. The one who can analyze all this will have a greater chance of success... but even then success is not guaranteed. There is no guaranteed success in gambling...
I completely agree with you. Statistics alone will not lead to success. It takes desire, experience, perseverance, and luck. When it comes to soccer, I am convinced that the coach plays a very important role in the success of any team. After all, a coach is like a father: if he puts all his energy into his children, they will achieve success. Any team game depends heavily on the relationship between the players, not to mention their relationship with the coach. Therefore, if the coach is not an authority figure for the team, no matter how hard he tries, the team will not play at 100%.
