Various institutions and governments are proclaiming that they are interested in hindering criminal activities, yet there seems to have also been an equating of privacy and/or anonymity with criminal activities.
Just look at the prosecution of developers of privacy software. They are trying to make writing code they don't like illegal. The Samourai Wallet devs have been in prison for over 400 days. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion about the wallet and the people who created it. You can love them or hate them. It doesn't matter. But they shouldn't be in prison for creating a piece of software that someone somewhere uses for a particular purpose.
