i dont really pay attention to whether im sending from my smerits or regular merits but i have noticed occasionally ill "run dry" of source merits and have to dip into my "regular" merits. so i try to make sure i have enough normal merits (like enough to cover a week say) to cover any gaps in they way my smerits are replenished.
