Thanks theymos, I was suprised with the dm this morning. Now I am officially a Merit source, this is likely needed to boost our local activity on our PH community and also to any other users shown quality posts I will be seen on the forum. Rest assured Id used those smerits wisely.
I like what you said about using it wisely. The simple rule is that let every post that deserves merit get it. You must not agree to a post to give it merit. If you think that the writer had put a thought in that post, it's merit worthy.
You can create a thread for users to apply like the way hugeblack and fillippone did/doing and also create a thread to review posts like the way The Sceptical Chemist did or meriting Posts on your style.

Better for Cryptoaddictchie to do things their own way, if they are very active on the forum, reading many posts per day, then there is no need to create a "merit application thread", because they will find a lot of merit worthy posts per day.
They should be allowed to be innovative in their style of merit distribution. So agree that they should be allowed to send merit using their initiative. It's not bad to copy good styles, but we shouldn't always follow the status quo.
