Erik Ten Hag is a coach that likes to work with the players he has coached in his previous clubs. I wouldn't be surprised if Erik Ten Hag performs the same way he performed at Manchester United at Bayer Leverkusen.
I thought that, but ever since he messed with CR7 and said he wouldn't put him in to play, I told myself that guy was a total idiot. How could you not put a teammate in to play just because you don't like him? It's like me saying about Real Madrid that Yamal is bad just because he's from Barcelona, It's immaturity, and that's exactly what I see in Ten Hag. I hope he doesn't take Leverkusen for the losses and put them in the same position as Mu.
The biggest opponent Ten Hag had in his coaching career was himself and his ego. It is exactly as you pointed out with the Yamal example, it is dumb. But he couldn't get over himself and wanted that fight against Ronaldo at all cost. He was the beginning of the end for Manchester United because what he left behind was one of the worst Manchester United teams there have ever been.
What strikes me as odd now is that Leverkusen made the experience how important it is to have a coach with strong communication skills and no ego problems. Now that Alonso leaves them, the best idea they come up with is ten Hag? What the heck, I wonder why they would do that...
Ten Hag is as much the opposite of Alonso as he could be, there are literally zero similarities between the two coaches. I think it is a mistake, but who knows maybe it is owed to the fact that not too many coaches are available at all.
