 I doubt that he will get a prison sentence for this, I think he will get away with a fine and of course he will lose his job.
As mentioned in the OP, the person has already been arrested, so that means he’s now in prison or at least in custody. He could end up serving five years, depending on what the actual penalty is for his crime (which we can’t be sure of, since laws differ from country to country). But what’s clear is that a crime was committed.

The worst part is, he lost his job, might go to prison, and if he’s the only breadwinner, his family will definitely suffer. The consequences are huge. At the end of the day, it’s not just about gambling itself, but his addiction to it that really led him down this path.
