Regardless of anything, Tottenham Hotspur are still at their own level, they are not better and not worse even though they finished in the bottom position of the Premier League standings, but last season they were able to win the Europa League title, which was enough to make them confident again.
However, there was a big decision taken by Tottenham Hotspur management, namely firing the coach who was able to give them a trophy after years of chasing it, so Tottenham Hotspur management wants change and wants their team to perform better next season with the decisions they made, but I don't think that will be realized.
Years ago, Tottenham Hotspur played better than now and they came nearly to success of upgrading their level. Unfortunately, they did not win any big title as necessary milestone for their level upgrade and it also affected their club financial health. This season, they won a first title after about 20 years and surely this trophy brings a lot of positive feelings in their club. However, they must return to reality that their overal performances in the past season were very terrible and one surprising title in UEFA Europa League won't change their squad quality and competitiveness entirely.
This means Tottenham Hotspur will have many hindrances for good performances next season and it won't be too surprising if they have very poor performances in both Premier League and Champions League 2025 - 2026 season.
I don't even understand why you have to fire a coach who has clearly succeeded in bringing this club to a fairly prestigious trophy in Europe, namely the European League. Not only that. We even saw that Tottenham also got a Champions League ticket thanks to Ange Postecoglou. So yeah, even though I finished in a very low ranking. But still, the sacrifices made in the Premier League can be well redeemed by becoming champions in the European League and also getting Champions League tickets.
Tottenham Hotspur has reasons for doing this even this sack is kind of hard decision for them. If we exclude the UEFA Europa League title, this season is a nightmare for Tottenham Hotspur and Postecoglou is deserved for a sack. A trophy in Europa League is big one, and brings Tottenham Hotspur to Champions League next season, but perhaps Tottenham Hotspur's board members did not see good future from management of Postecoglou next season.
