Backup funds and emergency funds are not invested. If anything happens to the back up funds there, your bitcoin would be vulnerable and you can either panic sell or possibly sell at loss in order to sort other life threatening circumstances. Why should someone's reserve funds be a problem whose purpose is to have them for emergencies so that the funds are only stored so that their value does not disappear which in my opinion is more suitable to be put into gold because gold is also easy to cash in at this time when someone needs funds suddenly.
