Not a scam, I brought this subject up before because my friend had the exact same situation. He is also platinum 1, had a host when he was platinum 1, but lost it over time. User ryzaadit also had the exact thing some weeks ago, yet he never thought about making a scam accusation out of this, because it isn't a scam.

My friend also saw the "reclaim your host" thing under the VIP section and THOUGHT he would get it back. After he had the wager (and much more) he also asked the support and got the same reply.
Another similarity, he as well mentioned the also in "You will also receive through P4", since it is worded a bit unfitting. Still, there is no scam, they can word things however they like. It's up to the player how to interpret those words.

My friend then moved on with his life and never got the idea to create a scam accusation thread because of this. They change the rules and requirements all the time, that's nothing new and you should know that.
As a platinum 6 myself I just hope they won't raise the bar to some crazy new level anytime soon.

Respectfully, this isn't about how someone "feels" about it - it's about the fact that Stake showed a clear on-screen offer with no disclaimer, then refused to honor it.

Whether others ignored it or shrugged it off doesn't make it right. Normalizing this behavior only encourages more misleading tactics.

If they want to change requirements, fine - but update the message so people don't wager based on a condition that's no longer valid.
This was not done.
